Calcitriol Chemiluminescent Immunoassay (CLIA) Kit is a Competitive Chemiluminescent Immunoassay (CLIA) Kit for use with Serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Introduction 1,25-Dihydroxyvitamin D3 (DHVD3, also known as calcitriol) is an active form of vitamin D3 found in the body. It is produced by 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 1-alpha-hydroxylase (CYP27B1), an enzyme found predominantly in the kidney that adds a hydroxyl group to the alpha-1 carbon of calcifediol. Calcitriol acts with parathyroid hormone to stimulate the release of calcium from bone, promote absorption of calcium from food, and reduce excretion of calcium in urine. Excess calcitriol in the body can cause hypervitaminosis D, causing hypercalcemia, dehydration, lack of appetite, and tissue calcification.
